While the Red Devils beat Burkina Faso 3-0 in a friendly, captain Eden Hazard had surgery to remove his plate from his right leg. Successful operation, Hazard will now start his recovery and will probably not play again this season.

Eden Hazard was successfully operated on, announced the Real Madrid Tuesday. The winger had the osteosynthesis plate that supported his right fibula removed.

Since joining Real Madrid in the summer of 2019, Eden Hazard has been diminished by numerous injuries. This season, he has only one goal for two assists with his club.

With the 2022 World Cup in perspective at the end of the year, he hopes to regain his best level, which he has only been able to show occasionally in the merengue jersey.
