Russia: Dzyuba’s muscular response

Russia: Dzyuba’s muscular response

Insulted by Andriy Yarmolenko and Vitali Mykolenko, Artem Dzyuba (33) did not take long to respond. Pointed out as captain of the Russian national team, the Zenith striker reserved a particularly incisive text to take over the two Ukrainian players in this period of armed conflict between the two Eastern European countries.

Dzyuba’s response to attacks from Ukrainian players:

Until recently, I was reluctant to comment on events in Ukraine. I didn’t want to do it, not because I’m afraid, but because I’m not an expert in politics, I’ve never been interested in it and I don’t intend to. (unlike many political scientists and virologists who have appeared on the Internet lately). But, like any human being, I have my own opinion. As this subject has attracted me from all sides, I will expose it.

I am against all war. War is scary. But I am also against human aggression and hatred, which acquire prohibitive proportions every day. I am against discrimination based on nationality. I’m not ashamed to be Russian. I am proud to be Russian. And I don’t understand why athletes have to suffer now.

I am against double standards. Why some people can do anything, but they blame us all. Why has everyone always shouted that sport should stay out of politics, but at the first opportunity, when it comes to Russia, this principle is completely forgotten?

Again, war is scary. In stressful situations, people show their nature, sometimes in a negative way. How much anger, dirt and bile has been poured out on all Russians now, regardless of position or profession? Those thousands of people who write insults and threats – get in line!

It is doubly strange to hear all this from people to whom Russia has given so much in their lives. All of this just creates more negativity. The war will end, but human relations will remain. And it will be impossible to go back. Remember that.

PS: And to some of my colleagues who sit on their ass in mansions in England and say mean things: we can’t be offended by that, we all get it! Peace and kindness to all!
