Saarbrücken coach Uwe Koschinat after the cup: “It pisses me off!” – Football

The cup knockout of 1. FC Saarbrücken at 1: 2 in Homburg reverberates…

Coach Uwe Koschinat (50), who recently won four games in a row in the league, stomped furiously through the waiting journalists on the track and etched: “The final of the Saarland Cup is taking place in our stadium and we’re not there. That just sucks.”

Koschinat was last seen so angry after the derby bankruptcies at the end of October and beginning of November.

The coach: “We lacked any stability, especially in the first half, and didn’t dare leave our oasis of well-being. All in all, the defeat is deserved.”

During the half-time break, he folded up his cup sleepers. Didn’t really help.

What particularly annoyed him: “In the last few weeks I have had the feeling that we are in a positive mood and a positive phase. That’s why it’s all the harder to explain.”

The question now: after a 6-point deduction and a cup disaster – how will FCS get back on their feet before the all-important games on Saturday at 1860 Munich, then against Mannheim (April 9) and in Lautern (April 17)?

Sports director Jürgen Luginger (54): “I think the team knows that they have to give something back.”

Koschinat adds: “We have to get up again. Now is the time to put our virtues back on the field. We can’t deliver a performance like that in Homburg again. Of course, that’s not easy given the short time available, but we have an important game ahead of us in which we want to score.” And we have to.
