Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Players Union (MLBPA) have reached an agreement for a new five-year collective contract, which ends a three-month wage dispute.
The season is thus saved. It will start on April 7, two weeks later than planned. Each team will play 162 regular-season games as usual, according to an announcement Friday.
The new contract guarantees an increase in minimum wages. The best players will also be able to earn more earlier in their career, and the play-offs will bring together 12 teams and no longer 10 as before, among other new features.
