Due to the war in Ukraine, Schalke 04 decided at the beginning of this week to remove the name of the Russian main sponsor Gazprom from its shirts.
A collaboration of more than 15 years came to an abrupt end, but now the German tradition club has found a replacement. Vivawest takes over the role of the Russian natural gas company.
“As a company with a tradition of building housing for miners and with our headquarters in Gelsenkirchen, we feel obliged to support Schalke,” said Vivawest Director Uwe Eichner.
“The terrible events in Ukraine require that we stand by each other.”
