Atlético Nacional won 2-0 over DIM in a new edition of the classic Antioquia. The purslane were forceful and with goals from Juan David Cabal and Daniel Mantilla, they made a difference over the powerful. Nacional had not won an Antioquia classic since February 20, 2020.

Both teams came out with a lot of momentum to get the result in favor. At minute 3, a center from the left sector did not have enough power and Kevin Mier managed to contain the center without problems. Two minutes later, after an incursion by Daniel Mantilla, the ball was left to Hayen Palacios who finished off the goal guarded by Andrés Mosquera Marmolejo with difficulty.

At minute 10, Felipe Aguilar was hit in his right knee, but managed to recover and return to the field of play a couple of minutes later. At minute 13, Hayen Palacios from mid-range surprised goalkeeper Andrés Mosquera Marmolejo, but the DIM goalkeeper managed to block the shot for goal.

About minute 26, Medellín approached the rival goal. The red team made a move down the right side that controlled Nacional’s defense without any problems. About minute 29, Medellín had the goal at the feet of Vladimir Hernández, but Kevin Mier contained the shot.

With the passing of the minutes, the match increased in fouls for both teams, the strong leg hindering the actions in the rival field.

About minute 38, Luciano Pons finished off goalkeeper Mier, but his shot went wide of the purslane goal. At minute 40, the DIM had another approach but it was not effective in the rival goal.

About minute 42, Dorlan Pabón sent the ball to the back of the net from the right sector, but the line judge annulled the play due to advanced position. At the end of the first half, Dorlan Pabón had the first goal of the match but his shot was rejected by the DIM defense.

At the end, Sebastián Gómez shot from mid-range, but the ball went wide of Andrés Mosquera Marmolejo’s goal.

In the complementary stage, both teams came out with the same impetus to attack. Nacional, with a little more dominance over DIM, turned his team into attack, while the visitors withstood the onslaught of their rival as best they could.

At minute 8, Jean Pineda from mid-range had the first goal of the game, but his cross shot hit the horizontal and on the rebound, Luciano Pons failed to put the ball into the back of the net. At minute 11, Dorlan Pabón answered for Nacional, but Marmolejo managed to contain his shot.

A minute later, Medellín approached the opposite goal again, but Kevin Mier was able to save the ball, sending it to the corner kick. The visit continued to get worse on the opposite goal, while Atlético Nacional came out on the counterattack. Luciano Pons at minute 14 had the first, but his shot went wide.

At minute 18 after a corner kick, Juan David Cabal had the clearest option for Nacional, but his header was rejected by a defender from the goal line. At minute 21, in a DIM counterattack, Luciano Pons was unable to take advantage of a pass from the right sector by Felipe Pardo, saving purslane goalkeeper Kevin Mier.

At minute 24 and after a center from the right sector, the ball was left to Juan David Cabal who with a header left Andrés Mosquera Marmolejo without an option to react, opening the scoring for Nacional in the classic Antioquia.

Four minutes later, Daniel Mantilla took advantage of an incursion down the right sector to leave the DIM defense without reaction with a cross shot, widening the advantage on the scoreboard for the purslane.

At minute 32, Felipe Pardo was sent off after a cross in the right sector of the field, leaving DIM with one less player.

About the 38th minute, Nacional used the first substitution of the match, entering Nelson Palacio instead of Dorlan Pabón. At minute 40, Medellín used two changes, David Loaiza and Vladimir Hernández left to make way for Juan Guillermo Arboleda and Diber Cambindo.

In the last minutes, both teams used variants seeking to unbalance a game in which Nacional had taken advantage with the two goals.

On the next date, Atlético Nacional hosts Jaguares de Córdoba, while Independiente Medellín visits América de Cali.
