The CI team has become the Faroe Islands champion 19 times, and did so in the 2021 season, passing the ticket to the UEFA Champions League qualifying tournament next season.
The CI team came into direct contact with Latvian football very recently, playing in the qualifiers against RFS in the UEFA Conference League. KI won the guests 3: 2, but did not go further, losing 2: 4 in their overtime.
For 27-year-old Latvian striker Shabal, this will be the 11th club abroad where he will play. Šabala finished the previous season as a member of “Liepāja”, while before that he played for the teams of Poland, Romania, Lithuania, Belgium, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Cyprus.
He won two goals in 11 games in the Premier League last season. In total, he has scored 43 goals in his career in the Premier League, most of them as part of Skonto, when he also earned a transfer to Belgium.
