The upcoming sports weekend is written for women: Saturday March 12 and Sunday March 13, 2022, “Sport gives them” will set the pace on the grounds and in the gymnasiums of Rouen.
Because the female public is more often removed from the practice of sport, the ASPTT of Rouen imagined two days of initiation completely free and prepared with the complicity of the City on the occasion of “Rouen gives them”, the month raising awareness of gender equality.
After two years “forfeit” due to the health crisis, it’s time again to put on your sneakers and rush to the nearest gymnasium to discover krav maga, diving, ice hockey, basketball or the archery. And you have to hurry, there is still until Friday, March 11 at 11 a.m. to finalize your registration.
The event is broken down into several stages, over the weekend:
- Saturday morning, on the left bank quays: a 5 km parkrun (departure at 9 a.m.) and well-being activities from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (open to all)
- Saturday afternoon: sports activities reserved for women (from 14 years old), spread over 13 sites in Rouen
- Sunday morning, on the right bank quays: two hikes (7 or 12 km) (departure from 9 a.m.) and fun and sports activities with the family from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The good idea of ”Sport gives them” is to remove all the obstacles to physical practice. In addition to being completely free, the event notably offers a reception for children from 3 to 10 years old on most of the sites concerned. The little ones are supervised by professionals and will also be able to enjoy activities during the sports “break” offered to their mothers!
Note that the day before the event weekend, an additional day is dedicated to people with disabilities, in conjunction with specialized establishments and structures. We practice healthy athletics, soft gym or soft volleyball, on video!
And because we can also like to see the sport, in addition to practicing it, two places are offered to participants for an upcoming Rouen metropolis basketball match! In short, it’s sports days this weekend with the “Sport gives them”! And there will be something for everyone!
