## A history of Harassment: Ravenna Man Faces Lengthy sentance for Stalking Ex-Wife
A Ravenna man has been sentenced to three years and nine months in prison for a relentless campaign of stalking against his ex-wife. This sentence, handed down by judge Federica Lipovscek,is nearly double the two and a half years requested by the prosecutor and reflects the severity of the man’s actions.
This conviction marks the third time the fifty-year-old has been found guilty of crimes against his former spouse. His history of abuse includes a previous two and a half year sentence for domestic violence. The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, accused him of physical abuse throughout their relationship, even during her pregnancy, wich tragically ended in an abortion. Following the separation, the man continued his harassment through stalking, threatening messages, and public humiliation.
In a notably disturbing incident, he posted a sexually suggestive photo of his ex-wife on a dating website, encouraging potential suitors to contact her. This act of aggravated defamation resulted in an additional six-month sentence.
The most recent charges stem from a period between the summer of 2018 and September 2019. During this time, the man relentlessly stalked his ex-wife, appearing at locations she frequented for work and leisure, including Lido Adriano, Punta Marina, and Marina di Ravenna. His behavior included sending anonymous threatening letters and posting menacing messages on social media, further terrorizing his victim.
the woman, represented by lawyer Cristina Magnani, was awarded €5,000 in provisional damages. This case highlights the devastating and long-lasting impact of stalking and domestic violence. It also underscores the importance of holding perpetrators accountable for their actions and providing support and protection to victims.
