Swimmer Anna Elendt significantly improved the German record over 100 meters breaststroke at a meeting in San Antonio. Elendt, 20, swam 1:05.96 in the prelim, more than half a second off her previous best (1:06.50). She was the fastest in the lead ahead of Olympic champion Lilly King from the USA (1:06.30). So far only the Japanese Reona Aoki (1:05.19) was faster than Elendt.
