Sports have always been a platform for promoting peace and understanding,and when that’s threatened,it’s crucial for sporting organizations to take a stand.

What’s your take on this complex issue?
Sarah Thompson: It’s a tough question, and there are no easy answers. Athletes dedicate their lives to their sport, and it’s unfair to penalize them for something they can’t control. However, when you represent your nation on the global stage, you also embody its values and actions. It’s a tough balance,but I believe the sanctions are necessary to send a strong message and pressure the Russian government.
Moderator: Do you think these sanctions are enough? What more can be done by the international sporting community?
Sarah Thompson: It’s a good question. These sanctions are a good start, but they shouldn’t be seen as a singular solution. Continuous dialog is crucial,and we need to find ways to use sport as a tool for building bridges and fostering understanding.
