After a two-month delay due to the pandemic, the highly anticipated Junior Tour Mike Magher 2021 culminated in a thrilling final held at the prestigious Royal Golf Dar es Salam in Rabat. Eighty talented young golfers, ranging from 9 to 18 years old, converged on the course, eager to showcase their skills and compete for victory.
This prestigious tournament, a collaborative effort between the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation and renowned American coach mike Magher, founder of the American Golf Academy in Biarritz, saw fierce competition across five age categories.
The youngest competitors, the “Chicks,” witnessed Sarah Lahloumi from Golf de l’Océan claim the women’s title, while Abderrahmane El Hali of RGDES emerged victorious in the men’s division. In the “benjamins” category, Maryam Ismaïli (RGDES) and Yasser Belatar (Ocean) secured top honors. Aya Azizi (RGAM) and Daryl James Henry (RCCT) dominated the “Minors” division, while Sonya Bayahya (RGAM) and Réda El Hali (RGDES) triumphed among the “Cadets.”
The “Juniors” category saw a remarkable display of talent from the Golf de l’Océan d’Agadir, with Rim Imni and Boujemaâ Sbeka securing a resounding double victory for their club.
These exceptional young golfers will now have the privilege of receiving specialized training from Mike Magher himself. Magher boasts an impressive track record, having successfully placed 33 young golfers directly onto American university teams and securing sports-study scholarships for 14 others. However, it’s important to remember that golf is a demanding sport, both physically and mentally. balancing training with other aspects of their lives is crucial for young golfers’ overall well-being.
