Marian Vajda, one of the most decorated coaches in tennis history, is no longer Novak Djokovic’s coach.
It seems that the two longtime collaborators have decided by mutual agreement to end their association after the ATP Finals in Turin, towards the end of 2021.
The Slovak instructor was not around the former world No. 1 in Melbourne or Dubai. However, he had defended his protege during an interview with aktuality.sk during his non-vaccination saga last month.
Everything seems to indicate that the rest of Djoko’s coaching staff remains intact, that is to say that he retains the services of Goran Ivanisevic, physiotherapists Ulises Badio and Miljan Amanovic, as well as physical trainer Marco Panichi.
Vajda had worked alongside “Nole” for more than 16 years, having been at his side for each of his 20 Grand Slam titles.
Their partnership had started shortly before Roland-Garros, in 2006, and except for a brief break, had worked together since.
