The 2022 regional indoor archery championship has just ended the indoor season. Two cities in Occitania have offered to host this major championship, Muret, for the competition bringing together young people and Auch, for adults. To be able to participate in this championship each archer had to qualify. Six archers completed their qualifications between September 2021 and February 2022. During this regional championship, the morning was reserved for the qualifying phases and the afternoon for duels.
At the end of this championship, two archers made it onto the podium, Gwendoline Bencherif, in the SD2 compound bow category, finished first and Michel Moll-Capdeville, SH1 compound bow climbed to the second step. Élyne Bouniol, SD1 recurve bow fell in the round of 16 and took 13th place in the general classification. Among young people, in the youngest recurve girls, Olivia Viviani takes a very good 29th place.
The outdoor season will start in April
Among the recurve male archer cadets Timéo Martinez ranks 7th and Lucas Viviani finishes in 26th place. The archers achieved a very good regional indoor championship 2022.
After a few weeks of well-deserved rest, the six archers will have to return to training to prepare for the outdoor season, which will kick off at the beginning of April. Spring is a period appreciated by archers who can evolve outside, often under a beautiful sun which allows in addition to competition and sportsmanship, to benefit from a mild weather which is good for morale.
The team of the company of archers is proud of its members who show a very good level in competition which continues to evolve positively. Young and old bring back victories for everyone’s personal pleasure.
