The Athlos had an Asturian session and a Catalan session

The Athlos Badminton Club recovers from a very intense weekend for its athletes, the team from Ourense did not stop at home, they traveled to the town of Granollers, in Catalonia, to play the third round of the League and to Castropol, Asturias for the Promo Castropol Senior.

In Granollers, a triple date with tough clashes against CB As Neves, Caser Clear Madrid and CB Oviedo, three tough matches that ended, despite last-minute setbacks, with a hard-fought victory against CB Oviedo with which they added three key points to position themselves in the middle of the table for the month of April and specifically on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th, dates on which the athletes from Club Athlos will play the last round of the competition in Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid).

While the triple competition was being played in Catalonia, in Asturias, in the town of Castropol, the protagonists were the senior players Julio Fernández, Dolores Sarmiento and Javier Galicia. Athlos athletes won four medals in the Asturian event, including two gold medals.

Both were by Julio Fernández, the first was in men’s singles B2 and the second in men’s doubles B1 with his partner from the Asturian team, CB Gijón, Diego Freire.

For her part, Dolores Sarmiento won the Silver medal in women’s doubles C1 with Marta Castro from CB Cembedo and Javier Galicia did not return empty-handed either, together with Sarmiento he won a bronze in mixed doubles C1.
