According to Globe, Atlético Mineiro would have received a proposal to sign a partnership with the City Football Group, which notably owns Manchester City, FC New York City and even Troyes in France. The group of investors has made a proposal of 180 million euros to become the majority shareholder of the Brazilian Serie A club. The leaders of Mineiro would not have accepted this first offer, since they would ask for the double of the sum, in spite of a fragile financial situation.
According to the Brazilian media, the management of the Auriverde club has already been negotiating since November and met two weeks ago Ferran Soriano, the president of the British group, who wishes to establish a permanent presence in South America. The City Football Group has already had Montevideo City Torque, a Uruguayan first division club, in this part of the world since 2017. Negotiations should continue.
