According to Eduardo Rodríguez Samaniego, director of the organization, Tennis Showdown came as an initiative to support national tennis, but also to provide a show for the thousands of fans of white sports that our country has, however at no time is its intention compete, because they are aware of the path and the importance of Mextenis and other companies.
“We do this with great enthusiasm, this is born from the idea of getting some tennis fans together and we try to see how to add, how to contribute with our grain of sand to support national tennis and bring the best possible events to the people, we do not we want to compete with no one, we have come to do one more event to add in the best way so that all tennis fans are very happy and have quality events in our country”, he commented in an exclusive chat with ESTO.
The road has not been easy between the pandemic and the injury of Dominic Thiem, who was the first confirmed, however the cancellation of the Austrian concluded in good terms and without economic losses.

“The truth was that the process between Dominic Thiem and what we are going to have now was very difficult, not so much because of the complexity of the negotiations, when we hired Dominic he was three in the world and we tried to bring something very special that will have an impact in the same way; The Daniil thing was settling in as the ideal to give a great show after his participation in the Us Open”, he explained.

The event that will take place on March 21 at the Mexico City Arena undoubtedly sets ‘the bar very high’ for the organization in subsequent editions, however for Eduardo Rodríguez it could not be started in any other way, since the idea is “always have a better event than the previous one”.
THE ARENA IS EXPECTED AT 100% OF ITS CAPACITY
Although it is a pending issue that depends entirely on the health authorities, the Tennis Showdown organization hopes that for the duel between Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev there will be a full house in the property, which will be adapted in what Rodríguez Samaniego himself described as a “spectacular scene”.
“The venue is fantastic, there has never been tennis there and what we are going to do is try to innovate indoors in the best possible scenario. The production is impressive, the people who go will be amazed with everything that we are going to have. The Arena has room for about 24,000 people, because of the configuration we have for tennis we only have a maximum allowed of 17,000 and a fraction, we expect that 100% capacity, ”he said.
Finally, the director of Tennis Showdown assured that in the future they wish to be able to join the ATP tour, although he knows that this goal is long-term, for the moment his goal is to improve the poster every year and provide tennis fans with our country a show of world quality.
