In the retaliatory match of the quarterfinals of the Champions League between Barcelona and Real Madrid, a world record in women’s football attendance was broken. At Camp Nou, 91,553 spectators watched the victory of the home favorites 5: 2.
The previous absolute maximum was held by the finals of the US-China World Cup, which was attended by 90,185 fans at the stadium in Pasadena in 1999. The women’s club football record was 60,739 spectators at the Spanish League match between Atlétic Madrid and Barcelona in 2019.

Barcelona’s trophy defenders, who advanced to the semi-finals of the Champions League with an overall score of 8: 3, usually play home league duels at the John Cruyff Stadium in the training area before an average attendance of 2983 spectators.
“I had to hold back tears because this was too crazy. The fans didn’t leave after the match and celebrated with us. I couldn’t even imagine that, I had goosebumps,” Barcelona wing player Caroline Graham Hansen told DAZN.
