The Arsenal vs Leicester match will be held at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday (14/3/2022). The Gunners’ victory was decided by goals from Thomas Partey and Alexandre Lacazette (penalty) born in each half.
The three additional points obtained have returned Arsenal to the top four of the standings. The North London team moved up to fourth with 51 points from 26 games, one point ahead of bottom Manchester United who have played 29 games.

The course of the match
Leicester City did high pressing against Arsenal in the early minutes. However, Arsenal became the first team to create chances, when the game had been running for eight minutes.
Gabriel Martinelli’s collaboration with Granit Xhaka was ended by Martin Odegaard with a pass. Martinelli headed in with a shot, but Kasper Schmeichel was still able to catch before the linesman’s flag was raised.
Arsenal did not take long to score the opening goal. Just three minutes later, Thomas Partey found the net for Leicester City to make it 1-0.
Starting from Martinelli’s corner on the left wing, Partey outmaneuvered the Leicester defense before finishing with a flick from close range.
In the 18th minute, Arsenal almost created his second goal. After his shot was blocked, Xhaka controlled a wild ball and sent a pass to Partey. The last named player then shoots into the top corner, but the ball hits the crossbar.
Leicester finally able to attack the Arsenal defense. Six minutes later, Dewsbury-Hall found space before teaming up with Harvey Barnes on the left side of the Arsenal box. Dewsbury-Hall tried to dig the ball from a tight angle, but Aaron Ramsdale kept the ball out.
Leicester’s attack came again in the 36th minute. Marcus Albrighton took a short corner, working a one-two with Dewsbury-Hall before sending a cross into the box. Barnes jumped the highest, but his header was parried by Ramsdale.
Arsenal play more confident after the restart. In the 55th minute, Odegaard’s free shot was continued by Ben White with a shot that was parried by Schmeichel. Partey hit the rebound with a header, Luke Thomas saved Leicester by sweeping the ball across the line.
Arsenal were awarded a penalty after checking with VAR, following Caglar Soyuncu’s handball. Alexandre Lacazette stepped up as the executioner, then tried to outwit Schmeichel before slotting a shot into the top corner of the Leicester goal to make it 2-0 in the 59th minute.
Leicester started to play more aggressively after being two goals down. However, Leicester struggled to penetrate Arsenal’s defense, which played quite solidly.
In injury time, Leicester were still trying to find a consolation goal. James Maddison sent a low cross to the near post. Daka slid in to attempt a flick of the ball but Gabriel managed to snatch the ball first to neutralize Leicester’s attack.
The match is over. Score 2-0 for Arsenal’s advantage to survive.
