The event brought together almost 400 judokas from Granada, Malaga and Almeria.
About 400 judokas, aged between 4 and 16 years old and from clubs in the provinces of Granada (Huéscar, Budo, Tomoe, Dodo´-Padul, Las Gabias, Ogijares, Atarfe, Baransu and Almuñécar), Málaga UMA and Almería Mytos and JudoIndalo met this past Sunday at the “José María García” sports hall in Almuñécar to participate in the Open Costa Tropical Judo Trophy, organized by the Almuñécar Judo School together with the Granada Association of Judo Clubs (AGCJ), with the support of the sexitan Municipal Sports Area.
The local representation, which added a participation of thirty judokas, achieved up to a dozen podiums with five golds, one silver and six bronzes among all categories. The activity was a complete success, from the organization to the discipline of competitors, coaches and family members”, according to the coordinator of the Almuñécar Judo Club, Daniel González.
“I thank the Almuñécar Sports Area for their support in this project, as well as the commitment of the parents and students of our judo school, with their involvement in all the activities of our club”, said González.

By categories, in the section benjamín, went up to the podium: José Luis Cuadros Salaberri (gold), Freddy Tenorio González and Jared Vallejo Cano (bronze). In juniors there were three bronzes through Omar Hernando Maachouk, Joel Hernando Maachouk and Luis del Castillo.
For its part, the cChildren’s category was the most successful with four golds, two bronzes and two fifth places: Carlos González Rodríguez, Alejandro Montes Castillo, Adrián González López, David Navarro Rivas, Álvaro González Velasco, Jairo Prados Pérez and Julio González López. As for the cadet representation, Manuel González Rodríguez, hung the silver.
