After four summit meetings between the best teams of the first phase of Pre-National, it is finally Basket Paris 14, CTC Mont Valérien, USM Malakoff and BAC Vincennes who will participate in the final stage of the competition.
Eight teams in the fight for four places. Four coveted places, synonymous with rapprochement with the national championships. Gathered in Palaiseau after two years of waiting without competition, the contenders for the National III today opened the great return of the Tournoi des As in the gymnasiums of the Jacques Allain complex.
As for the Women’s Pre-National, the final of the event will have a feeling of deja vu. After losing on the wire of Marne-la-Vallée at the end of a breathless match (50-52), the players of the Baccalaureate Vincennes will meet their opponents in the final of the last edition of the tournament: CTC Mont Valérien. Last winner of the competition in the women’s category, the CTC bringing together the women’s sections of the Rueil Athlétique Club and the Suresnes Basket Club, will therefore make the pass of two. By joining the Val de Marne club once again in the final after winning against the leader of pool A, VGA Saint-Maur, supported by a large crowd for the occasion (55-66), the Mont Valérien will try to get his ticket for the next level.*
In Men’s Pre-National, the cards have been reshuffled. New faces will appear in the final, succeeding ES Viry-Châtillon (finalist in 2019, winner in 2020), CTC Seine Ouest (winner in 2019) and Paris Académie Respect Intégrité Sport (finalist in 2020). Author of the biggest gap of the evening by offering the victory against BC Sartrouville (39-63), the Basket Paris 14 finally opens the doors of the last meeting of the Tournoi des As. Defeated in the first edition in the semi-finals, the Parisian club will therefore try to get its ticket to touch the national championships. Facing him, l’USM Malakoff. Winner of a very close encounter against PARIS (69-63) which was played out until the last moments, the Hauts-de-Seine club will find their Pool A counterpart for a final which promises to be more than interesting. For the record, Basket Paris 14 is the only team to have defeated Malakoff in the regular season during the first phase.
