MONTE URANO – Tomorrow Sunday 13 March in Monte Urano the archery competition of the Italian Historical Archers League (LIAS) will take place; the initiative is in the national calendar of this discipline.
For some time the municipal administration has been in contact with the organizing association to define the details of the development and in particular to set up some city spaces necessary for the race. The event will take place in the historic city center from 8 in the morning to 18 in the afternoon and will have an itinerant form.
Archery is one of the most ancient arts still practiced, a fascinating discipline and also an opportunity for aggregation and healthy competition, combined with the possibility of enhancing the territory in which it is practiced. Furthermore, the archery event in historical clothes represents a novelty in the reality of our territory, it belongs and, to the sphere of folklore and that of competition, and has the aim of both making known a discipline that still attracts today. people of all ages, and to introduce Monte Urano to a “people” of lovers of the genre who practice this sport.
The competition will take place in an itinerant course of 18 pitches where the target is placed; each pitch has a totem or pole that indicates the shooting method, score, recovery and direction of the next stage.
The Monturanese itinerary will touch the entire historic center: the Piazza, Via Gioberti, Via Matteotti, the Porta del Sole, the public gardens, Via Patrioti, Largo Garibaldi, the San Rocco area and the post office square.
