It was one of the most disputed and controversial regulations in the world of football. If the team with the first possession of overtime scored a touchdown, they took the win without the opposing team being able to reply.

At the end of the season, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Indianapolis Colts proposed, during a meeting, that this regulation be modified. A question of making the end of matches fairer and thus, stop unfairly depriving teams of victory following a hard-fought match.
It was insane, according to their proposal, that the draw at the start of extra time would give a more than considerable advantage to the luckier team.
Thus, both teams will now have the chance to score points, even if the team with the first possession has scored a touchdown. At least the formation that did not win the coin toss will in turn be able to contest the victory fairly.
However, this new regulation will only apply during the eliminatory matches.
