The goal of the Assyrian club for several years has been to promote the integration of women in a predominantly male sport. This purpose has been achieved in the last two seasons, where the club from Huelva was not only the one that contributed the most participants to the Spanish championship, with 54 registered, but it was also the club with the most goalkeepers in all of Spain, 26 athletes in the shooting line, thanks to this in one of the modalities the females outnumbered the men.
The Board of Directors of the Assyrian entity has the essential objective of real competitive equality between both sexes, something that is already a reality, since both the celebration of this trophy, as well as that of the women’s archery school, have been the incentive to achieve a considerable increase in fans of this discipline in Huelva and with it the increase in the number of Asirio athletes in the most important national competitions, such as the Andalusian and Spanish championships, in fact, it is the most numerous club in these competitions, something, a priori, unthinkable for a city like Huelva and even more so for a modest club like Asirio, shortcomings overcome with great effort and work by its athletes and coaches.
During the competition there was the presence of Valentina Esteban Gonzalez 2nd Lt. of Mayor and delegated councilor of the Area of Communication, Social Welfare, Equality, Women and the Elderly, of the municipality of Punta Umbría. At the end of the competition, the trophies were handed over by the authorities and members of the Assyrian club board.
