The documentary “The Queen of Basketball”, in which Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors) and Shaquille O’Neal (former Los Angeles Lakers and others) acted as executive producers at the 94th Academy Awards on March 28, Japan time (local 27th). Won the short documentary award. This work depicts Lusia Harris, the only woman to receive a draft nomination from the NBA team. Harris was the first Olympic women’s basketball player to score a goal, and she was nominated by New Orleans Jazz in the 1977 draft in 137th place in the seventh round. But she wasn’t trying out because she was pregnant at the time. She was the first black woman to be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1992. Harris has left a brilliant career in basketball history, but she admits that her executive producer O’Neill wasn’t even familiar with its existence at first. She said Harris died on January 19th (18th) this year at the age of 66, but continues to support her by donating her funeral expenses to the Harris family. Curry also contributed to her buzz by wearing shoes with the words “Queen Lucy” in the middle of this month. The fact that her work was in the limelight should have made her achievements widely known.
