From basketball to judo, passing through cycling, athletics, fencing, volleyball and other disciplines. More sport for everyone, because motor activity, even basic ones, is a fundamental tool for physical and psychological well-being, education and social inclusion, meeting and sharing for all ages.
There are 73 projects for the promotion of physical activity and sports financed with 1 million euros by the Region. Ranking approved by the regional council led by Stefano Bonaccini, as part of the activities related to sport policies coordinated by the head of the political secretariat of the Presidency, Giammaria Manghi,
Two-year projects resulting in particular from the initiative of local authorities, associations and sports clubs and which the Region supports with contributions equal to 50% of the eligible expenditure.
“We continue our commitment to support sport, alongside public bodies, as well as the many sports associations operating in Emilia-Romagna, thanks to the passion of many volunteers. Sport is health and psychophysical well-being, it is passion and competition. But it is also an extraordinary opportunity for social inclusion and for the youngest a training ground for life, thanks to which they can learn the values of respect for the adversary and sacrifice – underlines the president Bonaccini -. A commitment on the part of the Region that has not failed in these two years, during which we have tried to concretely help a sector that has been among the most affected by the pandemic. Now that we can look to the future with more confidence, sport can be a precious opportunity to restart, as well as for the development and promotion of the territory “.
These projects are in addition to the 128 approved and financed by the Region at the end of 2021 with over 1.4 million euros: sporting events and competitions in the area promoted by the numerous amateur associations active in Emilia-Romagna.
Overall, therefore, over 2.4 million euros that allow to support 201 sports promotion initiatives. Of these, in particular: 4 in the province of Piacenza with a regional contribution of 45,513 thousand euros; 12 in the province of Parma with 170,802; 20 in the province of Reggio Emilia with 241,892 thousand euros; 30 in the province of Modena with 320,107 thousand euros. And again: 72 projects financed in the Bolognese area with 882,519 thousand euros; 8 in the Ferrara area with 90,681 thousand euros; 17 in Ravenna with 185,282 thousand euros; 20 in the province of Forlì-Cesena with 226,068 thousand euros; 11 in that of Rimini with 151,849 euros. Finally: 7 company projects with registered offices outside Emilia-Romagna but active in the region, financed with 101,125 euros.
The Region’s commitment to sport
The financing of projects for the promotion of physical activity and sports is only the latest in chronological order of the many initiatives of the Region in favor of sport.
Ad hoc support has been registered in the last two years, in the face of the need to help a sector so affected by the restrictions imposed by the pandemic: between 2020 and 2021, over 5 million euros were allocated on the one hand to refreshments for swimming pools, gyms and ski instructors, on the other hand as a guarantee fund to support the lack of liquidity of sports associations; 3.2 million to be added to families in 2021 to contribute through vouchers, over 20 thousand, to the enrollment costs of their children to which are added, for the same purpose, an additional 400 thousand euros in favor of people with disabilities and large families to be assigned in 2022.
And to give concrete help to the regional amateur sports system, affected by an unprecedented economic crisis due to Covid, the assignment to sports associations and amateur sports clubs of a “one-off bonus” worth 4 thousand euros is also underway. (2,000 to those who have already received other refreshments from the Region). 4.5 million euros available.
A 360-degree commitment that of the Region for sport which has among its strengths the Plan for the redevelopment of the plant network started in the past legislature and under construction: playgrounds, swimming pools, sports halls, multipurpose spaces more beautiful, safe and functional thanks to over 43 million euros of regional resources, to finance 150 interventions by local authorities and generate a total investment of over 100 million euros. And which also includes support for major sporting events of national and international importance, essential for the promotion of the territory, including tourism, with 7.3 million euros invested in 2021. This plan is about to be financed with additional resources.
