The “revenge” of Cuti Romero against Richarlison: a brutal kick and provocation in the networks

Cristian Romero had his long-awaited “revenge” against Richarlison. In Tottenham’s 5-0 win over Everton, Cuti hit the Brazilian with a brutal kick, who made fun of the Argentines on several occasions.

Despite the brutality of the foul and his unusual gestures that he had gone to the ball, Romero received the yellow card. After the match, it was Cuti who made fun of the Everton player by posting a photo on Instagram with the Brazilian on the floor.

The controversial action occurred after 29 minutes of the match, when the London team was already winning 2-0. Cristian Romero, the undisputed starter for the Argentine team led by Lionel Scaloni, was a starter for the Spurs. In the absence of seven minutes, he was replaced by the Colombian Davinson Sánchez.

With these three points, Tottenham remains in contention for one of the top four places in the Premier League. The Spurs were coming off an irregular game in recent weeks, but began to settle the dispute after taking the lead with a goal against Michael Keane early in the game. Harry Kane scored twice (14 goals in 15 games against Everton), South Korea’s Son Heung-min once and Spain’s Sergio Reguilón another.

The Toffees added another poor performance this season with no sign of a recovery under the baton of Frank Lampard, with whom they have accumulated four defeats in five games. At the moment, Everton are in contention for relegation with Burnley, who sit in 18th and are one point ahead of them, albeit with a game in hand.

Spurs equaled their best ever Premier League win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and are on course to qualify for the Champions League. Although Tottenham, managed by Italian Antonio Conte, are seventh in the table three points behind Arsenal, they remain firmly in contention ahead of their crucial visit to Manchester United next week.

However, this time it was clear that it would be a good night for them because from the beginning they owned the shares. They went ahead in the 14th minute when Ryan Sessegnon sent a cross in from the left but Keane converted it into an own goal, the second he has suffered in three appearances at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Three minutes later, Kane sent the ball to Sweden’s Dejan Kulusevski, who did the same for Son. The South Korean outplayed goalkeeper Jordan Pickford with a weak shot. Matt Doherty passed it to Kane, who scored on a run in the 37th minute to make it 3-0. Doherty and Pickford are teammates on the England team.

The break did not cool Spurs, who made it 4-0 41 seconds into the second half. Son sent the ball to Kulusevski, who gave his second pass for goal, now to Reguilón, who scored first.

The Spurs were relentless and moments later Eric Dier’s header hit the crossbar. Kane took advantage and scored the fifth goal of the night, an impressive volley that embedded itself in the bottom of one of the corners.
