Like Roman Abramovich Chelseathe owner of the Vitesse Arnhem Valeri Oyf has also decided to sell his shares in the club because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Dutch club announced in a statement on Friday. The Russian oligarch is also leaving the club’s supervisory board.
“It pains me a lot to say goodbye to Vitesse, but in the current situation, I am taking this difficult decision in the interest of the club, the employees, the supporters, the sponsors and the other stakeholders. I always felt very involved in the club and enjoyed the great performances.” Oyf said in the club’s official statement. The speed that will face AS Roma on Thursday in the round of 16 second leg of the Europa League Conference East currently 6th in the Eredivisie.
