The seeds for the Qatar World Cup are already known, according to the Fifa ranking

The FIFA world ranking published this Thursday confirmed Brazil, which regained the lead five years later; Spain, Argentina, France, Belgium, England and Portugal, in addition to the host Qatar, as seeds in the draw this Friday for the 2022 World Cup, while Mexico, Germany, the Netherlands, Croatia or Uruguay will appear in the second pot and Ecuador will start from fourth.

The 32 teams that will compete in the final phase of the tournament from November 21 to December 19 next will be divided into four pots and distributed (one ball from each pot) into eight groupswith two conditions: the host team will be in Group A and teams from the same confederation may not coincide in a quartet, with the exception of European teams, which may share at most two in the same group.

From pot 1, as anticipated by the previous FIFA classification, Spain, Brazil, Argentina or the world champion, France, will leave, in addition to Qatar, Belgium, England and Portugalwith the threat posed to all of them by some teams that appear in the second: Mexico, the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Uruguay, Switzerland, the United States and Croatia, in order of their positions in the last ranking this Thursday.

Each of them will also have an opponent from pot 3, which will include the balls from Senegal, champion of Africa; Iran; Japan; Morocco; Serbia, with Dusan Vlahovic; Poland, with Robert Lewandowski; Republic of Korea and Tunisia.

And another from 4, formed by Cameroon, Canada, Ecuador, Saudi Arabia and Ghana so far, to which will be added the winners of the two intercontinental playoffs (one between the United Arab Emirates and Peru and another between New Zealand and Costa Rica) and the pending tie in Europe between Wales and the winner of Scotland-Ukraine, postponed to June due to the Russian invasion.
