Marc Marquez will start from third position at the Qatar 2022 MotoGP. Marquez is optimistic that he will be able to compete for the podium even though he is not sure he can win.
Marc Marquez recorded the third best time in the Qatar MotoGP qualifying session at the Losail Circuit, Saturday (5/3/2022) night WIB. The Repsol Honda rider will start behind Jorge Martin and Enea Bastianini.
This will be Marquez’s first race at the Qatar MotoGP after the 2019 season. Last season, Marquez missed the race at Losail because he was still recovering from an injury.
“For me, the most important thing was FP4, where I rode alone, my pace was consistent, the lap times were good,” Marquez said as quoted by Antara. Motorsport.
“So we’ll see tomorrow. It’s true that we have to manage a lot of factors, it’s the first race, the tires, the fuel, the track, all these things. But I feel a butterfly in my stomach, so we’ll see how I manage it.”
Marc Marquez welcomes the first race in MotoGP 2022 pain-free. The Spaniard believes he can compete for the podium.
“It’s enough for me and I’m happy with the pace because it’s true that I’m not the fastest, but I can compete for the top position, not to win,” continued Marquez.
“It depends on the conditions, for example Suzuki was fast all weekend and tonight was very difficult, but tomorrow will be different.”
“My main challenge is understanding 22 laps in a row. I feel okay, I don’t feel sick, so this is something that makes me happy,” said Marquez.
