MURCIA. The San Antonio Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM) will organize this year in seven regional offices a total of 20 of the 29 Spanish University Championships (CEU) of 2022, in which some 7,000 athletes from 80 educational centers in the country competing during the months of March, April and May.
Coinciding with the twenty-fifth anniversary of the creation of the institution chaired by José Luis Mendoza These Nationals will be held in a macro event whose celebration is an unprecedented event in the history of Spanish sport.
In total they will be seven the headquarters designated in the Autonomous Community and among the participants are high-level Olympians such as the swimmer Mireia Belmontethe athletes Miguel Angel Lopez Nicolas, Diego Garcia and Maria Perezel karateka Damian Quintero and the fencer Carlos Llavador.
All the activity of this appointment in the Region will start in Lorca yes this Wednesday March 2 with the cross country and the other municipalities that will host the competitions are Murcia (paddle, tennis, soccer, rugby and athletics), Cartagena (swimming and karate), Las Torres de Cotillas (badminton and judo), San Javier (indoor soccer, handball and basketball), Los Alcázares (beach volleyball, indoor soccer, handball, wrestling, volleyball, table tennis and taekwondo) and San Pedro del Pinatar (fencing, triathlon and judo).
This has been made known in the presentation that took place this Tuesday in the cloister of the Jerónimos monastery, where the UCAM campus is located, to announce the largest organizational project in the history of national university sports.

Josefina García has recognized that “once again the UCAM seeks social contribution through sport” and he added that “these championships represent an injection of the projection of our land and of socio-economic activity”.
Along the same lines, Marcos Ortuño has stated that “sport has the ability to generate visitors, boost the tourism business, reduce thenity and promote the Region” and has invited the public to follow the competition and “see world-class figures in action, including some illustrious students from the UCAM”.
For his part, Pablo Rosique stressed that “It is the first time that a university organizes 20 Spanish championships in the same year” and has provided details of the organization such as the final phases of team sports, which until now had eight teams, have now had 20″.
In these Nationals there will be antigen test for all athletes in order to obtain the maximum security guarantees against covid.
