Rome, 12 March 2022 – On Monday afternoon the “Matteo Pellicone” Olympic Center will open its doors to the Ukrainian National Judo team accompanied by the Olympic coach Vitalii Dubrova.
The delegation that accepted Fijlkam’s invitation will arrive at Fiumicino at 1:15 pm with a flight from Prague.
The Ukrainian judokas were not present in their homeland during the outbreak of the war as they engaged in an international training in Spain, now awaiting the next world competitions, they are traveling safely to Europe by participating in joint training with the other national teams.
The athletes arriving in Italy on Monday will be fourteen, led by the Olympians Artem Lesyuk (60 kg), Dilshot Khalmatov (60kg), Yakiv Khammo (+ 100kg) and the rising 66 kg star, Bogdan Iadov who started 2022 with two bronzes at the Grand Prix of Portugal and the Grand Slam of Tel Aviv.
The other athletes traveling to Rome are Dmytro Raskin (73kg) Bronze World Junior Teams 2013, Hievorh Manukian (81kg) Bronze at the Zagreb Open 2021, Anastasiya Antipina (63kg) Bronze by the European U23 2021, Natalia Chystiakova (70kg) Gold all European Cup Junior in Prague 2021, Anastasiya Turchyn (78kg) Bronze at the Kazan Grand Prix 2021. The Ukrainian Absolute Champions Sergii Kryvchach (81kg), Dilshot Khalmatov (60kg) and Zaur Duniyamaliyev (90kg).

The judokas will remain in Italy until 25 March and will participate in the Fijlkam inter-force collegiate, already scheduled in Ostia for next week, while on Tuesday 15 March, at the gym of the Matteo Pellicone Olympic Center there will be the official greeting of the Federation to the athletes in training.
Rome, 12 March 2022 – This morning the U23 European Championships as regards the Italian national team. The Plovdiv tournament, staged from last Monday until tomorrow, earned Italy a bronze medal with Morena De Vita in the -59 kg and a fifth place with Ignazio Sanfilippo in the -67 kg of Roman Greek.
The last fighter in the race was Gianluca Coletti who faced the Austrian Benedikt Huber in the repechage of the -70 kg freestyle, who unfortunately had to surrender in a balanced match, which ended 8-5.
