• The city council of Xochitepequense has supported the Mexican Under-23 Wheelchair Basketball Team with food, facilities and transportation.
XOCHITEPEC, Mor., March 2, 2022.- The members of the Mexican Under-23 Wheelchair Basketball Team in Xochitepec have felt at home, since the municipal council has supported them at all times, and supported with the use of its facilities, with its food and with the transfer to the training venues.
Since the day before yesterday, the twelve national teams have been very comfortable working at the DIF Xochitepec facilities; They have had sessions, morning and evening, on the property’s multipurpose court.
“I feel very good, I think that in Xochitepec they are committing themselves a lot to sports in general, and in this case, to wheelchair basketball. Everything has been very good in terms of service, food and everything,” said Fernando Sebastián Galván Castillo, a player from León, Guanajuato.
The warm climate of the Xochitepequense municipality, similar to the one in Quintana Roo, is helping basketball players to improve their physical condition; They have a great anaerobic preparation, facing the Pan American of the specialty, which they will hold, from March 8 to 12, in Playa del Carmen.
Hand in hand with their teachers, Adrián Figueroa and Vianey Carrillo, the basketball players from different parts of the country, have worked on their coordination, physical strength and three-point shots.
The Mexican Under-23 Wheelchair Basketball Team will train today and until Friday at the DIF Xochitepec; On Friday, he will also have COVID tests, at the Fidel Velázquez in Cuernavaca. Finally, on Saturday he will travel to the Pan American venue.
The contest in Playa del Carmen, will give two tickets to attend the specialty world championship, this year in Japan. The Mexicans will be measured there, their peers from the United States, Canada and Brazil.
