Judgment
The hearing against the Celta player and David Goldar for an alleged sexual assault continues for another day after a third session full of revelations: “This is planned, right?”
The trial against Santi Mina, a Celta de Vigo player who faces up to more than nine years in prison for an alleged sexual assault that occurred in Mojácar in 2017, and David Goldar, a UD Ibiza footballer considered a “necessary cooperator” by the accusation In particular, it will finally last one more day as his defense cannot present the final conclusions this Thursday, the date on which the last session of the three scheduled was scheduled.
It will be this Friday, first thing in the morning, when Mina’s lawyer, Fátima Magdalena Rodríguez, exposes her final version of the events, as the rest of the parties have already executed before the court of the Third Section of the Provincial Court of Almería presided over by Judge Társila Martínez.
A session, this Thursday, which has lasted longer than expected and in which details have been exposed in a public hearing that until now had not transpired but that, apparently, would have been pointed out by the alleged victim or the accused in their respective statements during the first session of the oral hearing, held behind closed doors at the request of the private prosecution.
Among other issues, outside the case and without documentary evidence to refer or endorse it, the complainant’s lawyer, Iván Bolaños, has clearly pointed out in his last intervention to the possibility that an attempt had been made to modify the accusation in exchange for the payment of a large amount of money. “They offered him 400,000 euros to come here to lie,” said the lawyer in order to delegitimize the argument that would suggest that the complaint is based on economic reasons given the public relevance of the defendants.
A statement that has been questioned minutes later by Manuel Ollé, Goldar’s legal representative, who has insinuated during his final argument in the room on the second floor of the Almería Palace of Justice if it had not been her “the one who addressed the accused” demanding a number “with more zeros”.
“This is planned, right?”
Another point that the attorney for the accusation has delved into, and that would derive from the intervention of the victim before the court, is the possibility that there was some type of prior agreement between the two defendants (the Public Prosecutor’s Office only charges to Santi Mina while considering David Goldar as a witness to the alleged assault) to have sexual relations with the young woman at the same time.
As detailed by the lawyer Bolaños this Thursday in his conclusions, his client told David Goldar specifically “this is planned, right?” her when she was allegedly attacked by the player from Vigo, who entered “in his underpants” in the van that the two soccer players shared when she was having “consensual” sexual relations with the first.
A version that the Prosecutor’s Office does not share, in this case represented by the prosecutor Miguel Blasco, who finally maintains the request for eight years in prison for Mina of his provisional qualification, in which he presents Goldar as a witness. Adhering to the Public Ministry, the Ibiza player’s lawyer asked for his dismissal.
