Third win in a row – Sport

TSV 1860 Munich may still lack consistency throughout the season, but it never gets boring with the lions. After a few inexplicably bad games and suddenly inexplicably good games again, the sixties scored a 2-0 (2-0) win against SC Verl this time from the work win category. And so they fought their way up to the top of the table at least once until Saturday. “We laid the foundation in the first half, and in the second half it was all about bringing the win home,” said trainer Michael Köllner at Magentasport. At first, Köllner didn’t want to know anything about a renaissance in the fight for promotion, despite three wins in a row.

Before the game he had urged patience – he and his players often sound as if they have due respect for the impatience of their fans. But they didn’t have to be patient for that long: after a somewhat dull initial phase, Merveille Biankadi created the most beautiful scene of the evening in the 26th minute: he shot completely free in the middle of the penalty area and converted a scissor strike into the bottom left corner ; Assist provider Yannick Deichmann had just as much space on his cross from the right. Verl wanted to answer quickly and immediately moved up – the lions took advantage of that immediately. Biankadi played on Marcel Bär, who was still starting in his own half, who saved his lead over Loser Barne Pernot until just before the goal, then he put the ball from a tight angle into the far corner with a medium-high shot (30′); for the 29-year-old it was already the 13th goal of the season. Although Sixty seemed to have everything under control after that goal, goalkeeper Marco Hiller had to be sung about again by the supporters shortly before the break whistle: he cleared in a one-on-one with Verls Cyrill Akono (45th).

The next sixty home game will not take place until the beginning of April

In the surprising 2-1 win against promotion aspirant Kaiserslautern on Tuesday evening, Köllner had played with a back four, for the first time since the disastrous 2-5 against 1. FC Magdeburg in early December, which heralded the end of Sascha Mölders at the lions. Now the coach kept the system against the relegation-threatened East Westphalia. Quirin Moll also played again as the only six in front of the defence. With the task of managing the results, the group actually only got along mediocrely. Sometimes Moll played the ball into the opponent’s feet, sometimes the ball was hit sideways. Nevertheless, there was never any real danger, Verl remained harmless apart from a few long-range shots. However, the game could have been decided a long time ago. Immediately after the restart, Bär missed the free-standing goal against Verl’s keeper Niclas Thiede, Lex fell into reserve when the shot was taken from the margin (47′). Apart from a duel between Bär and ex-sixties Aaron Berzel, there wasn’t much to do on the other side of the field either – both players forced the other to receive a yellow card.

Should the lions actually go into the fight for promotion again, this will be the case in foreign stadiums in the coming weeks: The next sixty home game will take place at the beginning of April.
