Hammond, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball and softball team will face national-level opponents, while the tennis, track and field and beach volleyball teams will come into action this week at Southeastern Athletics.
The SLU baseball team (7-9) hosts the No. 2 Ole Miss Tuesday at 6pm at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. Tuesday’s game will be Lions’ fifth non-conference game against a ranked opponent. Southeastern will set off on a three-game streak with Samford. The series will open on Friday at 6pm, continue on Saturday at 2pm and end on Sunday at 1pm.
The Southeastern softball team (14-7) will open the week with an 6pm tournament at No. Tuesday 21 LSU. On Thursday, the Lady Lions head to Jacksonville state for a 4:00 pm game. SLU will spend the weekend in Chattanooga, Tennessee competing in the UT Chattanooga Tournament. Southeastern will face Bucknell Friday at 12:30 pm and Saturday at 10:00 am Lady Lions will face UT Chattanooga on Friday at 5:30 pm, Saturday at 12:30 pm and Sunday at 1:00 pm
The Lion tennis team (1-11, 0-1 Southland) will host Southern Wednesday at 4pm at the Southeastern Tennis Complex. On Saturday SLU will see the opening of its Southland Conference street list with a 1pm tournament in Nicholls.
The SLU men’s and women’s track and field teams will be back in action on Friday. On Friday, Lions and Lady Lions will host the Southeastern Triangular at the Southeastern Track Complex.
The Southeast Beach Volleyball Team (2-7) has been playing for a busy week. SLU will compete in the SFA Invitational, taking on Mary Hardin-Baylor (10:00), Hendrix (12:00) and will host Stephen F. Austin (16:00) on Saturday. Sunday Beach Lions will see Abilene Christian (8:00) and Central Arkansas (10:00)

Inside Southeastern Baseball’s 2022 season includes Matt Riser continues Monday at 12 from the patio of Pour House Pizza and Beer Garden. Riser will be joined by co-host Allen Waddell at lunchtime every Monday during the season for a 60-minute show, discussing the latest in Southeastern baseball. Each week, select Lion players will also join the duo. Pour House is located at 505 W. Thomas St. in Hammond. The show will be heard for the first time online at www.LionSports.net/ListenLive.
The final stage of Inside Southeastern Basketball includes David Kiefer is set for Monday at 19:00. The show features Kiefer and host Allen Waddell discussing lion circles at Rainbow Daiquiris (14384 West Thomas Street).
