This Sunday the “Heroes de Malvinas” judo tournament is held at Gymnasium No. 1

There will be judokas from Comodoro Rivadavia, San Antonio Oeste, Viedma, Puerto Madryn, Trelew, Esquel, Trevelin and Caleta Olivia.

The tournament will take place next Sunday, April 3, at the Municipal Gymnasium No. 1. It will be organized by Judo Aiken, with the support of Comodoro Deportes and supervised by the Chubut Judo Federation. Admission to the public will be free and free. Previously, on Saturday there will be an arbitration clinic by instructor Hugo Arismendi (2nd Dan).

The Judo Aiken reference and Physical Education teacher, Emiliano Sillero (1st Dan) explained: “We open the calendar of competitions in the region, this time in a very special way, paying tribute to our heroes of the Malvinas, veterans and fallen in the historic war.”

The following categories will be in dispute: Promotional (9 and 10 years old), Infantil A (11 and 12 years old), Infantil B (13 and 14 years old), Cadets (15, 16 and 17 years old), Senior (graduates and Danes from 15 years), Novice Kyu (beginners from 15 years), Master (over 35 years).

The competition will start at 8:00 in the morning at the Municipal Gymnasium No. 1. “In the morning it will be the turn of the smallest and even the cadet category. Around noon there will be a children’s recreational meeting for children from 4 to 10 years old, ”he advanced.

At 2:30 p.m. there will be the opening ceremony and subsequent recognition of the Malvinas heroes, where it is expected to have the presence of leaders of the Malvinas Ex-Combatants Center.

“Then the fights of categories of majors and black belts will begin. Around 6:00 p.m. will be the bronze and gold finals, and then give rise to the awards, “said Sillero.

There will be judokas from Comodoro Rivadavia, San Antonio Oeste, Viedma, Puerto Madryn, Trelew, Esquel, Trevelin and Caleta Olivia.

In turn, this event will serve as a preparation for judokas who are preparing to participate in the next National Opening Championship in Córdoba to be held from May 5 to 8.

On the other hand, the arbitration clinic will be on Saturday, April 2 and will be in charge of the organization of the instructor Hugo Arismendi (2nd Dan), who will also be accompanied by an international Olympic referee.

In this regard, Sillero commented: “with the beginning of a new Olympic period, in Judo as in other sports, with the aim of improving the sport, modifications are made in the regulations of the IJF (International Judo Federation) towards Paris 2024. it is very important to be updated before the new changes”.

And he added: “This clinic can also serve as a kickoff to achieve in the future a minimum number of official referees from Chubut who can represent us in important competitions such as Nationals, Games of Araucanía, Epade.”

On this occasion the speaker will be Juan Diessler, a referee of great renown in national and international judo. Managing to represent us as a referee at the Youth Olympic Games, Buenos Aires 2018.

It was also present at the Grand Prix Hot Hot (China), Grand Prix Zagreb (Croatia), World Cadets (Chile), Pan American Games (Cali 2021), Youth Olympic Games (BS AS 2018). He was also in Pan American competitions in Panama, Brazil, Nicaragua, Colombia and Chile.
