Ourense Judo Club Marbel Ready to Rumble at Galician Championship
The Santa Isabel Pavilion in Santiago de Compostela will be the battleground for the Galician Judo Championship tomorrow, welcoming talented young athletes born between 2002 and 2007.Among the competitors are three promising judokas from Ourense Judo Club Marbel: Iván Vasallo (-60 kilos), Guillermo Arenas (-66 kilos), and Lauro Kauán (-81 kilos).
Their coach, Master Manuel Montero, expresses confidence in his team, stating that each athlete has the potential for a strong performance and a chance to secure a coveted podium finish.Notably, Kauán and Arenas recently demonstrated their prowess by claiming Galician titles in Jiu Jitsu, a discipline closely related to Judo. This success highlights their exceptional skills and competitive spirit.
The day’s events will commence with a weigh-in at 10:30 a.m., followed by the commencement of the competition at 12:00 noon. Each bout will be a test of endurance and technique, lasting for four intense minutes.
Accompanying the athletes on this journey are their dedicated coaches, felipe iglesias and Anita Fernández, who will provide guidance and support throughout the championship. The Ourense Judo Club Marbel team is poised to make a notable impact at this prestigious event.
