The Biscayans David Ruiz and Jagoba Madariaga and the Gipuzkoan Oier Alkorta will be the novelties of the Bizkaia Open International Padel Tournament that starts on Saturday. The competition will feature six couples and half a dozen different frontons will be played. Along with Bizkaia, Larrabetzu, Plentzia, Sopela, Armintza and Zierbena will host double-round league festivals. The semifinals will measure the first classified with the fourth and the second with the third on the Miribilla court, and the final will be on the same stage on June 11.
The combinations will be made up of Necol-Alkorta, Gaubeka-Del Río, Fusto-Ruiz, Maldonado-Gordon, Madariaga-Urrutia and Ibarguren-Ibai Pérez. “Five of the six couples will have a young person between 20 and 24 years old, something that is very important for the company”, highlighted the mayor of Innpala, Josu Urkijo.
In total there will be fifteen days to meet the best four combinations. There will be no possibility of postponing matches. A pelotari will only be replaced in the league if the injury he suffers is of long duration. In the semifinals and in the final, the injured person may be replaced by the first eliminated from the same demarcation and there is only the possibility that he plays with a partner.
