Trento Baseball Gears up for an Exciting New Season
Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 5th at 5:30 PM, as Trento Baseball unveils its plans for the upcoming season at the Grand Hotel Trento. This highly anticipated event promises to be a momentous occasion, celebrating not only the new season but also the five-year anniversary of the Trento baseball association.
Over the past five years, Trento Baseball has experienced remarkable growth, with a particular focus on nurturing young talent. this dedication is evident in this year’s Serie C team, which is comprised almost entirely of players who have risen through the ranks of the club’s youth advancement program.
adding to the excitement, Trento baseball will introduce its new Technical Director and Serie C team Manager, the accomplished Cuban coach ernesto Del Rio Carceller. Del Rio brings an remarkable resume to Trento, boasting a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success. His accolades include multiple Cuban national championships and victories in the Under 15 and Under 18 World Baseball Championships in 2001 and 2008, respectively.
Del Rio’s journey in Italy began in 2010 with Messina in Serie A, where he served as pitching coach and helped the team achieve a fourth-place finish. In 2015, he joined Crazy Sambonifacese, leading them to five consecutive Triveneto Under 12 championships.
His crowning achievement came in 2021 when he guided a team of young players from the Veronese youth program to victory in Serie C, securing promotion to Serie B. That same year,Del Rio and his Crazy Under 12 team also clinched third place in the Italian championship.with Del Rio at the helm, Trento Baseball is poised for a new era of success.
