U.S. Customs seizes 230 fake Chinese championship rings | U.S. Customs | NBA | NFL

[Epoch Times March 08, 2022](The Epoch Times reporter Li Xin compiled and reported) U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seized 230 counterfeit NFL “Super Bowl” ( Super Bowl), Major League Baseball (MLB) Finals (World Series, also known as “World Series”) and American Professional Basketball League (NBA) championship rings, this shipment came from China.

According to CBP’s official website, CBP officials in Louisville, Kentucky, recently seized the fake championship rings, which may have been priced online for much higher than their actual value.

On Thursday (March 3), CBP officials at the Louisville Express Shipping Center detained the shipment, sent by the Chinese company, to a Florida home. Officers inspected the package and found various rings bearing the names and logos of professional sports teams.

The fakes include: 10 Milwaukee Bucks NBA championship rings, 30 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Bowl rings, 80 Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl rings Rings and 110 Atlanta Braves World Series rings.

An import affairs expert believes the rings violate intellectual property and trademark regulations and lack an import license for the goods. If the rings are genuine, the manufacturer’s suggested retail price would total $345,000.

Intellectual property infringing goods cost U.S. consumers more than $100 billion annually, making them the victims of roughly 20 percent of the world’s illegally sold counterfeit goods.
