Touching footage from Ukraine: A father mourns in hospital over the body of his dead 16-year-old son, who was killed by a Russian airstrike while playing football.
Ilya, 16, was killed on Wednesday while playing soccer with friends in the besieged city of Mariupol. Russian soldiers opened fire and one of their explosives landed on the football field, near a school. For Ilya, all help came too late.
Photographers and cameramen at the hospital recorded how the father, who is called Serhii, enters the room and sees his son lying under a bloody white sheet. The doctors leave the room and the man bursts into tears. He sits on a chair at the head of his son and hugs him one last time. Powerful images.
