Jarmolenko, 106-time Ukrainian international, does not mind playing football. He was given rest by his club to focus on the situation in his native country.
“I don’t think he is quite ready to return to the squad. We want to give him every opportunity to do everything he can for his family and for his country. He sympathizes with the current situation in the country ,” said David Moyes, Jarmolenko’s coach at West Ham today.
“Coming to training sometimes makes him feel a little better and we try to give him a little rest, but we also want to do everything we can for him and his family.”
The Scottish coach admitted he felt rather helpless in the situation. “It’s not just about myself as a trainer, but also about us as a country and people. I think we all feel we can do nothing.”
As coach of Everton, Manchester United, Sunderland and West Ham, Moyes has never won on the Liverpool field in 17 games.
