Bayern Munich have failed to fight past the number 3 in the Bundesliga, Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Niklas Sule’s opening goal was not enough for the win.
At Bayern things are not quite the way we are used to from them. At home, the number 3 in the standings, Bayer 04 Leverkusen, could not be settled.
Defender Niklas Süle opened the score early on a corner, but before halftime the score was level again after an own goal by Thomas Müller. He extended a free kick by Karim Demirbay into the wrong goal.
Afterwards, Leverkusen even came close to winning. Bayern defender Dayot Upamecano played back dramatically, but Amine Adli forgot to make it 1-2 and hit the post.
Bayern can see Dortmund again sneak up to 6 points in the standings. Although the focus of Lewandowski and co will now undoubtedly first be on the vital return in the Champions League against Red Bull Salzburg.
