The Venezuelan men’s basketball team finished in fifth place in the U-18 South American Championship by defeating their opponent from Colombia 82-60, at the José Joaquín “Papá” Carrillo gym, Parque Miranda, in the city of Caracas, reported the Tic Television web portal.
With this result, the team led by Ronald Guillén finished with a record of three wins and two losses throughout the tournament.
In this match, four Venezuelan players finished with double digit points: Carlos Mijares (16), Jonathan Grimán (14), Gregori Berroterán (11) and Isaiacc Manchego (11).
While in the defensive part, Carlos Mijares and Argenis Perdomo led the rebounding statistics with eight and seven respectively.
Likewise, this tournament served to distribute three tickets to the Pre-World Championship of the category that will take place this year in Brazil, with a date yet to be confirmed.
