The atmosphere at the Maggi gym sounded electric, but your team never seemed to crumble under pressure. What was the key to maintaining such unwavering focus throughout the match?
Coach Faedda: Thanks for having me. The boys were truly phenomenal. We knew going into this match that Imperia would be a tough opponent, especially with the intense home crowd support.Though, we emphasized the importance of staying focused on our game plan and trusting each other. We’ve been working hard on our mental toughness, and I think it realy paid off on Sunday.
That’s truly commendable, coach. Especially considering you fielded only nine players. That kind of depth can be a challenge for any team. How did your players adapt to the limited roster?
Coach Faedda: Your right, it’s never ideal to be shorthanded. But our guys showed incredible resilience and a willingness to step up. We emphasized teamwork and smart play, making sure everyone understood their roles and responsibilities. Our bench really contributed to keeping the energy high throughout the game.
It seemed to work! Paraschivu and Fusco were absolute firepower, both hitting 25 points. Amazing individual performances, but this was a true team effort. What would you attribute Ventimiglia/Bordighera’s scoring dominance to?
Coach Faedda: Absolutely. While those two had amazing games, it was a collective effort. We moved the ball well, found open shots, and played unselfish basketball.
This win vaults you to the top of the standings with just one game left. How dose this victory affect your approach to the final match against San Diego La Spezia?
Coach Faedda: It’s a huge boost, no doubt. We’ll enjoy this win for a bit, but we’re not taking anything for granted. San Diego La Spezia is a strong team, and we know they’ll be hungry to prove themselves in the Gold championship. We’ll treat this last game with the same focus and intensity we’ve shown all season.
