UNDER 13 CHAMPIONSHIP –
Group A

Basket Venaria – Vercelli Women’s Basketball 71-43
(partial: 15-2; 32-15; 57-23 )
PFV Scoreboard: Fall A.6; Alilou; Panels 8; Trots 12; Stacchini 6; Zannini 11; Ferla; Lahmids; Walls; Bari; Khoule; Balzaretti .. Coach Fabrizio Valentini.
Decent defeat for the Under 13 of the PFV beaten by Basket Venaria for 71-43, at the end of a match that, in at least two of the four periods, saw the Vercelli team fighting on par with the strongest opponents, while in the other two the same they appeared almost unable to throw the ball into the basket.
The approach of Valentini’s girls (still on the bench to replace Anastasio) was nothing short of disastrous, as if they were still left with their heads still traveling to Venaria instead of on the field, where they practically did not guess a shot: 15-2 the partial which directed the game in one direction determining the result.
In the second period, the guests seemed to wake up and disputed a balanced quarter (17-13), closing halfway through the match at 32-15, without being able, however, to shorten the distance.
In the second half the situation of the first period was repeated, but this time with only 8 points scored but 25 conceded and the game was in fact archived.
The last quarter saw the PFV rise again and score 20 points against the 14 of the opponents who, however, had the spoils previously set aside on their side and could afford the luxury of relaxing a bit.
All in all it was a rather fluctuating test, moreover typical of these categories frequented by very young and still fickle girls, which however in the PFV house confirms the progress that this group is showing.

UNDER 15 CHAMPIONSHIP
2nd phase of completion – Single round
MATCH 3 – one-way round
Sunday 27.3.2022 – in La Morra (CN) – 11.00 am
Langhe Roero – Pwomen’s basketball Vercelli – 67-42
(partial: 12-4; 25-18; 42-30)
PFV Scoreboard: Dikrane 4; Giuliani 9; Prinetti 10; Dipace 2; Bari H.1; Horses 4, Nicosia 4; Panels. All.re: Dario Gobbo to replace Gianfranco Anastasio).
The Under 15 of the PFV return with their heads held high from La Morra, where they were beaten by the local team of Langhe Roero for 67-42.
This result came at the end of a good match in which the Vercelli fought to the limit of their possibilities, taking into account that once more they had to play with only eight players on the scoresheet for a series of unfavorable concomitances.
Among them accidents (Torazzo) and quarantines (Haxhsiai), as well as a couple of girls from “Who has seen it?”, That is, practically disappeared from the radar without leaving tangible traces.
In addition, the concomitance with the Under 17 match on the afternoon of the same day prevented the team from being integrated with elements of that group, having to limit every insertion to Sofia Panelli of the Under 13, the only one available to repeat the match of the day before without much notice. , showing appreciable attachment to the social colors.
The result was a hard-fought race, despite the now usual away handicap start (12-4 at 10 ‘) which the Vercelli girls knew how to put a patch in the second period (won 13-14), thus closing halfway through the race on 25 -18, still widely in the running.
In the second half, the PFV held up in the third quarter, without letting the opponents escape (42-30 ‘at 30’), but unfortunately had to give up in the last period (24-12 the partial) also due to fatigue due to the impossibility of make the necessary rotations, with only eight players on the bench.
At the end the score said -25 but all those present at La Morra – to thank – expressed positive evaluations on the performance of the Vercelli girls.
News note: in this match Elena Cavalli (2008) scored her first official points in the league, earning the right to offer the pastries to her teammates at the next training session.

Under 17 Championship –
2nd phase
Group “Spring” – 3rd day
Sunday 27 March 2022 in Valenza – Barcaro Sports Center Gym
MADO Valenza – Women’s Basketball Vercelli 37-66
(partial: not received)
PFV Scoreboard: Cafasso 2 Carrozza 9; Dutto 3; Flower 2; Giorgi 3; Nicolotti 2; Pintonello E. 2; Rizzato 13; Neighborhoods 10; Momo M. 18; Baro 2. Coach Fabrizio Castelli
In the Under 17 championship, “Primavera” group, Fabrizio Castelli’s PFV won a good and convincing 37-66 victory against the local MADO team in Valenza (AL).
The final result tells of a clear supremacy of the guests, made clear right from the start and, if on the one hand the opponent was certainly not one of the most difficult to face, on the other the Vercelli team showed clear improvements compared to the qualifying round achieving greater compactness and enabling all its athletes to register for the scorers’ scores.
Castelli’s girls led the game, imposing their game with a fluid maneuver and choosing good attacking solutions, while in defense they managed to limit the opponents’ offensive as much as possible with a good defense that kept them under forty. points. What it takes, in basketball, to win, in essence.
The umpteenth good performance of Matilde Momo (2007), author of 18 points, is of some importance, confirming herself as a cornerstone of the team and – hopefully in society – also of the other groups, while to note with pleasure the return on the parquet of Veronica Quartieri, absent from the pitch for a long time as a precaution.
Good injection of confidence, therefore, for the Under 17s of Cigliano, Saluggia and Alice, registered PFV who now aim to ring some other good victories.
