With a putter on fire, Viktor Hovland strolled on the greens of Bay Hill this Friday. The Norwegian signs a 66 (-6), the best card of the day and jumps ten places on the leaderboard to take the lead by two strokes before the weekend. An iron shot too long and to the left on the 13th (par 4) brought the only error of the day of the world n°4. A go completed in -4, plus two shots won on the return for the Norwegian, alone in the lead.
Twenty-three putts in total on this second round, a figure that reflects his excellent day on the greens. He spoke about it after his game: “Twenty-three putts? I knew I putt well, but I didn’t know it was this good. I read the lines very well today and when you come back from the first holes it’s easier to continue to do so on the following ones.”
Rory stands
Day off for Rory. After his excellent -7 yesterday, the Northern Irishman is still at the same mark today. Despite a 15-meter putt on the 8th, having brought it to the level of the Hovland mark (-9), Rory died on the return, without managing to avoid two bogeys on the 15th and 17th.
Paul Barjon in the hard
Paul Barjon had a nightmarish day in Florida. The Frenchman, starting from 10th, first signed three bogeys on his outward journey, before exploding on the return. Two bogeys on 5 and 9, and three doubles on 2, 3 and 8. Paul Barjon signs an 83 (+11) taking him last to +15 total, alongside Sam Bennett (amateur) one shot behind a certain Kevin N / A.
