The Judo Club Lissone Asd promotes the self-defense path in the gymnasium of the elementary school in via Volturno

Against violence against women kicks off a Lissone a self-defense course with the federal instructors of the Judo Club.

Violence against women, the Judo Club course

A course to learn the key concepts of female self-defense, curated by certified federal instructors and focused on taking to defend oneself in the event of aggression with the aim of increasing personal self-esteem and greater self-awareness.

The Municipality sponsored the “Women’s self-defense course” promoted by Judo Club Lissone Asdan initiative that will start from Friday 18 Marchfrom 9.30pm to 11pm, in the Dante school gymnasium (in via Volturno) and will continue until June 10th for a total of 13 meetings.

A few days after the celebration of Women’s Day, as a municipal administration we have decided to support this important initiative with sporting and social implications. I thank the Judo Club Lissone Asd, a reality active in the area since 1970, for having thought about the organization of this proposal to which we immediately granted our support. The presence of the teacher at the course reassures me of the goodness of the activity Christmas Casagrande, federal instructor and head of federal technicians who will take care of following the course itself, who, in addition to being a great sportsman, is a great educator. The president has also already submitted to me a project against bullying which I trust will be implemented in the coming months.

The councilor for Sport stressed Renzo Perego.

Here’s how to join

During the course, the main notions will concern the phases of prevention and defense against aggression, also working on the attitude to be taken to dissuade any violent actions by strangers.

Prevention, attitude and defense will be the cornerstones within which the self-defense course will move, during which actions will be developed aimed at opposing a violent action of which the woman can be a victim while standing or while on the ground. In Lissone we have already promoted a similar initiative in the past years, attracting a high level of participation. We hope that, even through these lessons, more and more women can raise their self-esteem and always feel safe in whatever context they find themselves.

The venue of the course will be the gymnasium of the Dante elementary school in via Volturno, with a maximum number of 30 students. Registration will be free but requires the payment of a fee of 20 euros to cover insurance costs.

It is possible to pre-register by calling 335/8005710; alternatively, registration will take place Friday 18 March directly in the gym starting at 9.15 pm.
