The Genoese karateka Viviana Bottaro, after the historic bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics, was awarded the honor of knight of the Republic in Ostia.
Together with the other medalized athletes Viviana Bottaro (born in Genoa on 2 September 1987) received from the hands of Domenico Falcone, president of the Italian Federation of Judo Fight Karate Karate Martial Arts (Fijlkam), the diploma sent by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella.
In 2016 after the Rio Olympics Odette Giuffrida was awarded the title of ‘official’, this time Luigi Busà was named ‘Commander of the Republic’ for the gold medal, while the title of ‘knight’ went to bronze medals Maria Centracchio, Viviana Bottaro and Abraham Conyedo.
